What do you say we leave for California

Day One: Road Trip
After much ado involving food, clean apartments and credit cards, we got on the road at about 10:30 ish. The drive was fun, full of music, snoozing, reading and talking. And snacking. Lots of snacking. When we got to my house my parents had soup ready for us and we talked with my parents and Kait for a while then hit the hay.

Day Two: Disneyland
We went to Disneyland! I love Disneyland! I love it even more when I get to go with people who have an affinity for all things Disney. It wasn't crazy packed so we got a lot of ground covered. The lines seemed to be pretty long but thanks to ingenious planning and fast passes we didn't spend all day standing in line.

Day Three: Beach
We went to the beach!!! I loved playing in the water. It was a little too cloudy for my taste, but still a good day.
After the beach we rushed to get ready to have dinner with Chris' grandma at Claim Jumpers. Sooo much food. It was way fun.

Day Four: Everyone leaves
Everyone left about noon. After spending the afternoon with my family, I got antsy to look at a baking book. I found The Art and Soul of Baking on-line at Sur la Table. I went out and bought it as well as a few other things (tartlet pans, cake decorating kit, and Lettuce Knife). I love Sur la Table! I could have spent the rest of the evening browsing the aisles and spending more money, but it got a little awkward being the only customer with 4 cashiers. Every single one of them told me how much they loved the book. As soon as I got home and got to peruse the recipes and tips, I started to fall in love with it too. So far I've made Chocolate-Rasberry Tartlets, Eclaires, and Lemon Meringue Tartlets.

Day Five-Today: Highlights
Here are some of the highlights:
-Missionaries came for dinner!
-I saw (500) Days of Summer, which is sooo good! I love it!
-Disneyland again
-Legoland with Kait, Erin, and Lucas
-Today, Saturday, my dad bought me Martha Stewart's Cupcake Decorating book.

Next few days:
Tomorrow: Vista Singles Ward and cup cake decorating
Monday: More baking? and hopefully Julie & Julia
Tuesday: Back to Provo to finish packing, planning and education week.

Talk about your turn of events

I know I haven't updated in a long time, and I probably would have kept going without an update but I HAVE to write about today and I can not find my journal the one time in two weeks I have something solid to write about.

So...this morning I woke up feeling terrible. Not like physically but emotionally. It took me sooo long to get out of the mood I was in, I can't even begin to tell you. There were a couple of things that happened that sort of made it worse, but they do not need to be shared with the internet, so moving on. A couple of times I thought about wanting to go home and trying to figure out how to do that (I even thought about stopping by the board on campus with all the people seeking rides, or to carpool with around the country). Every time I thought about that I told myself I was crazy because while the last time I went home was wonderful, it showed/reminded/taught me that I am sometimes better off here in Provo. I said a tiny prayer seeking some divine help/guidance.
Later in the afternoon [4 pm, weekend plans: maybe a wedding reception? then mope about my lack of potential wedding reception] I remembered I had to take some stuff back to the library and make a copy or two. After giving up on Jane Eyre (sorry Charlotte, I'll try again later I promise) and returning HSM and HSM2 from my High School Musical Marathon I went to the no shh zone to make my copies and I ran into no other than my friend Alyssa. Upon seeing each other we remembered that we were supposed to hang out and had yet to make plans to. Now obviously being the perfect time, we cummenced a rather short, but eventful hang out.
A: You're from the LA area right?
Me: Well, San Diego, so a little south, but yes. Why?
A: A group of us are going down to go to Disneyland and some other things and every place we have tried to stay keep backing out. Do you think your parents would mind if we stayed there?
Me: Oh Disneyland?! I love Disneyland! I'd have to call and ask...
A: You should totally come too.
Me: When are you going?
A: Wednesday thru Sunday morning...
OF course I agreed to go! I'm not working, I really have no plans made. I've been bumming around Provo for the past few weeks and am more than happy to have an excuse to see my beloved family and play in California. [5 pm, weekend plans: CALIFORNIA! Stay with the fam, go to D-land, beach then back to Provo] I was extatic! No more boring, mope around after a wedding receptiong wishing to be less of a lonely number for me. A surprise trip to California to give myself a last burst of energy to get me through till Thanksgiving. Plus Kaity-poo had agreed to come to D-land with us so I would get to spend the whole day with her as well.
All through the rest of the evening and FHE (which went swimmingly btw, haha punny because we played in the pool) the one thing on my mind was the fact that I would be home in two days and at a beach on Friday. I know Kaity-poo has been having a tough time this summer and my only regret was not being able to spend more time with her. (Other things that could be regretable are also slightly unavoidable with surprise trips). About midnight here in Provo I got a text from my dad asking if there was anyway for me to come and stay for awhile to help Kait get through everything. Since I was hoping to surprise somebody with this trip, I hadn't told Dad about it yet. I called him and explained the whole surprise trip and offered to stay on longer since I'm not getting any hours at work until the 12th at the earliest. [12:30 am, weekend plans: CALIFORNIA! Stay with the fam, go to D-land, beach then stay in ENC until probably the 1oth of August] Yes, that's right, in less than 12 hours ALL of my plans for the rest of the summer changed. Unbelievable! I just can't get over it! I've known for awhile that I should be in Provo this summer, but I think this weekend my time ran out and I'm needed back home until it's time to come back to get ready for the fall (work, move etc).

Wow, this is way longer than I meant it to be! I should really put a moral of the story at the begining of each post for when they get this long, but then I'd be afraid no one would read the rest of it. Maybe next time.
